Town Deer Hunting Continues Through Jan. 31

The 2013-2014 controlled deer hunt will continue through Jan. 31, 2014 on certain designated town-owned land, and people are warned these parcels are closed to the public when hunting is in progress.

There will be no hunting on weekends, holidays or when schools are not in session.  Hunters must carry identification issued by the Town.

When the hunt is in progress, these town properties are closed to the public. Ridgefield urges hikers to find alternative hiking spots in town elsewhere when hunters are hunting.  Information about those areas may be found by contacting the Conservation Commission.

Here is this year's list.

Levy Park (archery only – AM only)

Shadow Lake (archery, shotgun and muzzleloader)
