Middle School Study-Skills Workshop

The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield is hosting a summer workshop led by Successful Study Skills 4 Students (S4), a highly effective evidence-based study skills program for middle-school students. The program is open to all students rising into grades 5 through 8.

What Your Student Will Learn
Your student will learn how to apply the taught study skills to their academic work, equipping them to start the new school year with a clear understanding of how to study efficiently and effectively.

Your student will learn how to:
• Manage time and make schedules
• Take effective notes
• Use a planner
• Read and listen actively
• Determine main ideas and supporting details
• Self-advocate    
• Ask the right questions to enhance understanding
• Set a purpose for learning
• Use visuals to deepen recall and understanding
• Use summaries to solidify comprehension
• Study and prepare for tests
• Set goals

When students know how to study, they feel great about themselves and their work. Students will be led through a series of engaging and interactive activities designed to provide confidence and motivation.

Where: Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield, 41 Governor St., Ridgefield
Cost: $395 for the three-day workshop
When: Monday, August 12 through Friday, August 16, daily from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
