Housed in a rustic converted dairy barn, The Ridgefield Theater Barn has been serving the surrounding community since 1965. Maintaining a production schedule of four mainstage shows per year, all of our cast and crew of every show are volunteers that run the gamut from raw amateurs to seasoned professionals.

All participants, whether on stage or off, are volunteers. We are actors, dancers, musicians, seamstresses, carpenters, singers, electricians, and individuals who just offer willing pairs of hands to do anything from painting scenery to taking tickets at the door. Our compensation comes in the form of good times, camaraderie, and the satisfaction gained from learning new things, being part of a team, and staging a quality production.

Mainstage productions are only one aspect of our theater’s numerous offerings. From the Role in the Hay Players, our in-house Improv troupe, to Theater for Young Audiences, we truly have something for everyone. In 2009 the Barn introduced An Evening of One Acts, which was so successful it's been added to our yearly calendar. Last year we premiered Word Around Town: An Evening of Original Poetry to much critical acclaim, and each year we host play-readings and pick one for a Black Box production.  This year we brought back Piano Bar...n and after so much wonderful feedback, we've decided to make it, too, a permanent fixture on our yearly calendar.  All this, and acting workshops for both adults and kids which continue to sell-out year after year.  With cabaret seating at candlelit tables, there’s always something tempting going on at the Barn, so BYO refreshments and join us!
