About Harold
Before becoming a newspaper reporter and photographer, I worked for about 20 years as a contract technical writer, preparing computer system documentation (user manuals, engineering and system configuration documents) for banks and insurance companies.
My first job out of college was writing audio-visual training programs for Army technicians and mechanics.
It was a different world, then, with images backlit from 35 mm film strips and audio coming from an audio cassette.
