Ridgefield Open Space Association
9 Sylvan Dr, Ridgefield, CT 06877
Ridgefield Open Space Association is dedicated to "the preservation of open space and protection of the region's naturalMore heritage through education and public advocacy." By presenting legal arguments before state and local agencies, ROSA attempts to prevent changes in zoning regulations that would allow major development in properties that would be best kept as a natural habitat, such as the Bennett Pond property. ROSA also serves to educate the public about the importance of preserving land that is diverse in habitat and essential to sustaining wildlife and pristine waterways and wetlands. In addition, Ridgefield Open Space investigates any funding that may be available statewide or federally to further its cause, and encourages changes to regulations that may improve the association's ability to protect natural environments in Ridgefield.
