Angus attended Ridgefield schools, graduating from Ridgefield High School with the Class of 2008.

Angus Gilmore McConnon, 21, of Ridgefield died early Wednesday morning, January 18, 2012 at Danbury Hospital.   Angus was born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., on April 27, 1990, and lived his entire life in Ridgefield, Conn. Son of James McConnon of Westport and Julia (Hopkins) Otis of Ridgefield, Angus attended Ridgefield schools, graduating from Ridgefield High School with the Class of 2008.   At the time of his passing, Angus was a senior at SUNY-Plattsburgh, NY where he was studying audio and digital media.  He was passionate about music, especially live music, and had hoped to pursue a career in the music industry.  An avid outdoorsman, his greatest joy was to spend time with his family on Fire Island and skateboarding, snowboarding in the …

Lynn M. Gorfinkle, 64

A resident of Redding since 1977 coming from Virginia (one of the many moves with Mike working for IBM), Mrs. Gorfinkle was an animal rights activist for her entire adult life.

Lynn M. Gorfinkle, 64 of Redding, an animal rights activist, died on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Danbury Hospital. Mrs. Gorfinkle was the wife of Michael A. Gorfinkle. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, July 31, 1947, daughter of George and Elinor (Lincoln) Eckstein . Lynn resided with her parents in Fairfield before marrying Mike in 1965. EJ Carfi, 14, Had 'Tremendous Courage'

Support from the Ridgefield community for EJ and his family has been unwavering.

Ridgefielder EJ Carfi was praised for his "tremendous courage" at Wednesday's Board of Selectmen meeting on the day he passed away at the age of 14. EJ, a high school freshman, had the support of the Ridgefield community as he fought epidermolysis bulosa, a rare skin disorder, throughout his life, First Selectman Rudy Marconi said Wednesday. "Our condolences go out to the family and everyone involved," Marconi said. "He had tremendous courage -- he fought and fought and fought." State Rep. John Frey also knew EJ and wrote on his Facebook wall: "EJ was a very inspiring young man. So sorry to hear of his passing. He touched many and will be long remembered." Former Selectwoman Joan Plock died Nov. 14 in Ridgefield.

Joan Plock, a former Selectwoman of the town of Ridgefield, died last night, Nov. 14. A long-time Ridgefield resident and member of the Board of Education and Board of Selectmen, Mrs. Plock resigned from her position as selectwoman last year for health reasons. Andy Rooney, a long-time resident of Fairfield County who still has a home in Rowayton, died on Friday in a New York City hospital from complications following minor surgery. He was 92. Rooney was a staple of "60 Minutes", capping the show off with his brilliant and often funny commentary about the little things in life that we sometimes make a big deal of — and the big things in the world that are sometimes really small. Rooney, who began his commentaries in 1978, railed about how unpleasant air travel had become. "Let's make a statement to the airlines just to get their attention. Zachary Lyle Lipson, 16, of Ridgefield died on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011 in Ridgefield. Zack was born in Trenton, NJ, June 13, 1995, a son of Gary N. Lipson and Laura Solomon of Ridgefield. A resident of Ridgefield for the past seven years coming from Stamford, Zack was in the junior class at Ridgefield High School. He was a former member of the wrestling and football teams. In addition to his parents of Ridgefield, Zack is survived by a brother, Sam Lipson of Ridgefield and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Renee Lipson of Fall River, MA. Patrick Samuel Smith of Ridgefield passed away unexpectedly Friday at the age of 20 while vacationing in Spain with his family.

Patrick Samuel Smith of Ridgefield passed away unexpectedly Friday at the age of 20 while vacationing in Spain with his family. Patrick was born on December 27, 1990 in Charleston, W.Va., and lived in Ridgefield for the past 15 years. He died as the result of a bacterial infection.
