@ DB Cooper........ You don't, any more than you can stop someone from turning a pressure cookerRead More into bomb as was done in Boston. I am surprised lawmakers have not limited the size of consumer cookers to 4 quarts and calleld for registrations and background checks for the purchase of larger commercial cookers. It's a sick world we live in,however, if we ban every aspect of life because a few loonatics are hell bent on our destruction, then we are no longer living, we are merely existing.

How do you propose keeping semi-automatic weapons out of the hands of INSANE people? Still waitingRead More for an answer!

Troubling, but not surprising. The events in Decemebrr were a tragedy, plain & simple. There'sRead More no singular solution as we know. It's about tighter controls, mental helath & security. I wonder if the Malloy supporters will correlate the increae cost with his political exhuberance? Getting harder to watch this stuff- the only sane man in the discussion bceoms the lunatic.

Yes, a good, old fashioned, "NY" style deli!

How about a deli?
56 Ivy Hill Road, Ridgefield sold for $1,299,000 on May 7. The property is appraised at $1,304,888.

ivy hiil drive -sold 1,470,000 in 2003 today 1.3 seeing as home prices rose on average 8-15% aRead More year from 2003 to2007 this home may have been worth close to 2 million at its peak. Meaning Ridgefield Real Estate ,despite a rather 'hot market occuring nationwide' is off quite a bit price wise. Low interest rates, quantitative easing, an economy on the upswing , higher stock prices.--lots of factors that should be propping up home prices. Wonder what will happen if any negative influences present themselves.

125 divided by 5= 55? Hmm Anyway--Lisa, I asked you on another thread , why you and other patchRead More editors refuse to see the reality of the new patch version and the resultant dearth of comments-? You chose not to answer==but instead calculate 125 divided by 5 = 55. Maybe that in fact does answer my question about Patch? They created their own reality and own set of facts, and just like Michael Dinan-bizarrely think that the readers have no choices and are receptive to riducule and arrogance. Oh well.
Lisa Buchman (Editor) May 16, 2013 at 03:01 pm
So $55 for about an acre of grass, no pool is another quote I hear. Sounds about right inRead More comparison. (Also - sounds nice!!)
Porter Gladstone III May 15, 2013 at 10:53 pm
We have 5 acres of grass and a pool with shrubbery surrounding- and 3 acres of trees. I pay 125 aRead More cut. Takes them about 1 hour and 15 minutes . Spring and fall cleanup 1500 each cleanup.

This will be a great show - big fan of his parents but haven't heard him much and liked reading moreRead More about him. Thanks Suzanne for the interesting interview. Has anyone heard him in concert?

Good job Patch. Let's hope that the new format results in the elimination of much of the inaneRead More sparring that some choose to subject readers to.
Porter Gladstone III May 15, 2013 at 09:06 am
Sure- 2 questions. The Darien site, for example, probably changed to this format roughly 4 weeksRead More ago. Since that time, the comments section has dropped from 100 a day to 4 a day. (I exaggerate with respect to specificity). My question is - do you think that getting used to the change is the only thing affecting this dramatic change? The change was immediate--and the comment section has not seen any marked change in its 4 week old life. I guess Im surprised that the low level of enthusiasm is not considered by Patch to be anything other than the natural reaction to change. My idea of good journalism is to take note of developments. Not to ignore them. I am pretty sure I know the reason for the poor reaction. Pretty easy fix as well. But, I'll take you at your word and trust that you believe the site to be superior and that all it needs is time. Good luck.

Thanks for your comment Porter. Change always takes some getting used to! However, I hope once youRead More use the site for a day or two you'll see all the benefits. The comment indicator goes from zero to however many there are so that's clear - and this morning, I'm reading right on our homepage all of the local news from Ridgefield voices - The Theater Barn, Woostser School and Playhouse, to name a few! Let me know if you have any questions.
