Jesse Lee Day School has been serving the Ridgefield area for more than 40 years. The school offers programs for children ages 2 to 4  as well as transitional kindergarten and kindergarten enrichment programs. Children learn about the community and the world through visits from police officers, firefighters, marine biologists, librarians and Woodcock Nature Center naturalists. Field trips include visits to the Aldrich Museum, Stop & Shop and New Pond Farm.

The school divides its classes into age-appropriate groups. The program for 2-year-olds, for example, is designed to help each child transition from toddlerhood, when they are still learning sensory motor skills, to the social life of a preschooler. The curriculum emphasizes language development, self-expression and social skills.

Kindergarten Enrichment is a literacy-based thematic program with lessons in oral language, phonemic awareness, language arts, mathematics and science. The program emphasizes small group work and social interaction.
