Week Ahead: Preservation Hall Jazz, Acting Audition, Television Writing

There are so many things to do in Ridgefield this week. Take a look at the Week Ahead.

Is it time to see if you're really an actor? Want to audition? The Ridgefield Theatre Barn is looking for a few good actors. Is that you? Open auditions started Sunday, but they continue Monday evening at 7 p.m.

If acting isn't your thing, how about writing for television? The Ridgefield Playhouse is offering an eight week course on writing for television. It is a vacuum of endless demand that someone will fill. How about you?

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band is hitting the Ridgefield Playhouse Monday evening. This is a band steeped in history that is forever young. They've played with The Edge, Thrombone Shorty and on a project with My Morning Jacket. Recent acclaim includes being named the best ambassadors of New Orleans music in 2012, and the 2011 Best Traditional Jazz band.

Ridgefield MOPS, (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers,) will meet Wednesday for the first time this school year. MOPS is a place for mothers of pre-schoolers to kindergarteners to find support, friendship and encouragement. Consider getting a hand up with a hand-full.

You can enjoy an evening with Graham Nash, the Farmers Market on Main Street, and the SPHERE Art Show, all this week and more. Check out Events on Patch. There is loads more to do in Ridgefield this week and every week. You'll find it here.
