Here are a few things to look forward to in Ridgefield this week, including The Goonies for free Wednesday, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes Friday.
The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield is hosting a summer workshop led by Successful Study Skills 4 Students (S4), a highly effective evidence-based study skills program for middle-school students. The program is open to all students rising into grades 5 through 8.
What Your Student Will Learn
Your student will learn how to:
• Manage time and make schedules
• Take effective notes
• Use a planner
• Read and listen actively
• Determine main ideas and supporting details.
The Ridgefield Recreation Center is hosting a program designed to keep children safe in an internet age. Keeping our kids safe in a very connected world is a challenge every parent faces. The IT Difference will be presenting this very informative parents workshop at the Ridgefield Recreation Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Ridgefield Community Center and Park and Rec are offering a free movie, (The Goonies,) on the lawn at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Loundsbury House, 316 Main St. Celebrate the summer! Grab a blanket, family and friends for an adventure filled viewing of The Goonies on the Community Center lawn. Refreshments for sale.
Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes will play the Ridgefield Playhouse at 8 p.m. Friday. Even the name sounds like a party, Southside Johnny. Join the party when Southside Johnny & his 8-piece band the Asbury Jukes return to The Ridgefield Playhouse! For more than 30 albums, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes have delivered their soul-searing brand of raucous blues and R&B.
