Tell us a little about yourself:

I was born in Brooklyn and I now live in Danbury. I used to go up to Putnam Lake in the summers with my family. That's actually how I ended up working in Ridgefield. My sister and I went to the New York School of Dog Grooming in Manhattan. We decided to go up to Ridgefield one summer and get some work at The Animal House that used to be in theplaza. I worked there for a year and a half and decided to open my business, The Groom Room.

How long have you worked in Ridgefield?

I've worked here since 1981.

What is your best memory in Ridgefield?

One of my best memories in Ridgefield was opening The Groom Room when I was 21. took a chance on me and let me rent out space. I couldn't believe it.

What is your favorite aspect of Ridgefield?

My favorite aspect of Ridgefield is that I'm spoiled working here. The people are really nice here and they take really good care of their dogs.

What keeps you here?

Nobody talks back to me! The dogs that come into the Groom Room are all fun to work with. We work with all kinds of dogs and they come in by appointment. The dogs like being groomed.

What do you do for fun when you aren't working at The Groom Room?

I work out with a personal trainer and I go jet skiing. I got into jet skiing because I have a house on a lake. When I work out I do group training, spinning and body combat. I work out with three other women.

Do you volunteer?

One of my passions in life is giving back to people. I run a charity golf tournament every year. It takes place at Fairview Farms in Waterbury. I've been doing the tournament for 15-years. Two years prior to that I ran a softball tournament for a little boy I had read about in the paper.
