Ridgefield Youth Raises Money For Danbury Organization

The kids braved the heat for a good cause.

By Pia Britto, Yale University

The summer heat may have slowed down most of New England, but Ridgefield kids were unstoppable.

Across town, Ridgefield's youth held several fund raisers to help the Danbury Regional Child Advocacy Center purchase back-to-school supplies for economically disadvantaged children. The $500 was collected Sunday across three sets of fundraising activities from a basketball championship, a movie-and-spa event to “minute-to-win-it” games.

The organizers of the fund raisers -- ranged in age from high school to elementary school -- could not have collected this money without the generous support and encouragement of their neighbors and friends.

The fundraisers will continue through August 15, so look out for signs if you would like to support Ridgefield’s children in their great cause.
