Another wonderful holiday stroll in the charming village of Ridgefield on Friday night. This is probably my 10th year strolling along to the sights, sounds and, excitement of the festivities. Every year I am like a kid on Christmas eve.... I just can't wait! I was in the company of my good friend Mary and, my husband Tom. The competition goes on every between the two of them of who knows more people....I think its a tie however, they sure know everyone! My cousins from another town joined us for the first time, they were so impressed how we could walk and get to every kind of store to purchase various products. I guess that is the charm of Main St. along with the quaint architecture.
Even though several retail businesses have left the real estate market open on Main St the existing retail stores did a fabulous job of decorating and promoting this holiday event. Speaking of real estate, the various offices on Main St and beyond also did a great job of celebrating with good food and beverages to all who wandered in. They also serve the Ridgefield community well in promoting this charming town and, give back to the people and organizations in many ways.
The pouring rain did not discourage our trek around the block of Main St. as we dried off at every store, real estate office, book store and, the the two jewelry establishments. And...... who were those three charming and handsome young singers dressed up as toy soldiers singing acapella throughout the evening venturing into various places. They were great!
So thank you Ridgefield for another great holiday stroll and I can't wait till next year! In the mean time, I'll shop local and support our wonderful community.
