Counter tops Part II

Capture the attention of your friends with unique counter tops

Countertops- Part II

The TR Design team has started on kitchen re-design. We headed over to Brooks Custom Countertops for a wonderful presentation by the owner Richard Brooks. With his “Stanley Tucci” style glasses (he called the style) and, a sense of loving his work we were quite entertained and filled with knowledge of the manufacturing of and, the availability of various materials for custom counter tops. With all the options such as wood, concrete, glass and fusion glass, stainless steel, zinc, pewter and, copper you can have a unique counter top in your kitchen and receive lots of ooohs and aaahs from your friends. The price of a wood top (maple) is comparable to a high grade granite……are we not so done with granite?! As a designer.. I am, there is so much more available. The wood counter is finished off with a marine grade resin that can withstand the test of time and water, concrete is indestructible, 1.5” thick glass is incredibly durable believe it or not (I’m sure a lot of you have glass coffee tables and think how long they have lasted) and Zinc is the “prettiest” metal but the priciest. The concrete counter tops can have an acid wash applied to accomplish hundreds of different colors to complete you’re unique kitchen or bathroom.  Let’s get all our kitchens updated with  unique counter tops so you and your family can enjoy gatherings more in the kitchen and, if your friends love it too that’s just icing on the cake.
