TBICO Speaks at Ridgefield NCL Meeting

The Ridgefield Chapter of National Charity League invited The Bridge to Independence and Career Opportunities (TBICO), and Mr. William Florin, to be their special guests for the chapter's January Patroness meeting.

Ms. LouAnn Bloomer, President & CEO of TBICO, and Mr. William Florin, President of Resu-mazing Services Company, Monroe, CT, were the guest speakers for the evening. TBICO, a nonprofit in Danbury that provides employment and business skills training for disadvantaged adults who are entering or re-entering the workforce, is one of Ridgefield NCL's adopted Philanthropies. Ms. Bloomer spoke to the Ridgefield Chapter Patronesses about current TBICO news and programs. Then a recent Graduate of TBICO's Corporate Edge program, who also happens to be a member of the Ridgefield NCL Chapter, graciously gave a speech about her re-entry back into the workforce having been a long-time stay-at-home-Mom and her positive experiences at TBICO.

Mr. Florin spoke about how best to present volunteer work on a resume. Volunteer work translates into marketable job skills too.

Despite the evening's extremely cold temps, we were uplifted by the warm reception for TIBCO by Ridgefield NCL President Ms. Dawn Farrell DeAcutis and all of the Patronesses. And we were most delighted and appreciative to receive the NCL Patronesses' generous donations of office supplies and decorative shopping bags for our in-house TBICO Corporate Closet.

We look forward to a terrific year ahead at TBICO with NCL Ridgefield Chapter's ongoing support!
