B-I-N-G-O! Another Successful Family Night at Scotland

Scotland Elementary School families gathered for a fun night of Bingo.

The scene was a crowded school cafeteria Friday night, March 15th at Scotland Elementary School as families gathered for an intense night of Bingo.  Scotland parent, Laura Weiskopf, organized the popular event.  At least 60 families attended the event and every Bingo card was used.

Families enjoyed the snacks that lined a table on the side of the cafeteria and school principal, Mark Solomon, welcomed everyone to the event.  School secretary, Linda Lupinacci called out each number, while Mr. Solomon, the self-described Vanna White of the evening, wrote each number on a board so that everyone could keep track of what had been called.

The night began with a round of traditional Bingo with each player trying to cover spaces in a straight line horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.  Subsequent rounds had the players cover their spaces in patterns such as the letter “N” or in a full square around the board.  In the final round, players had to complete a “blackout” where all squares on the board were covered.  For each round, prizes were given out to the many winners.  The blackout round was especially heated, as many players in the room needed just one more number to complete the board.  Mr. Solomon lead the school in a rousing chant of “one more number!” to ask for additional numbers to be called.  Mrs. Lupinacci was happy to oblige the request, especially when the students added,  “Please!”
