Ridgefield Native Receives Coaches Award

Bryan Mazzola, son of Steven and Lori Mazzola of Ridefield, was honored by the Randolph-Macon Academy Athletic Department.

A Ridgefield native has been tapped to receive high honors at Randolph-Macon Academy.

Bryan Mazzola, the son of Steven and Lori Mazzola of Ridgefield, received the varsity soccer fall 2012 Coaches' Award for the Randolph-Macon Academy, a college-prep co-educational boarding school in Front Royal, VA.

Mazzola also received an Honorable Mention to the Delaney Athletic Conference All-Conference Team.

During the fall 2012-13 season, Mazzola, a junior, has scored 29 goals and had 18 assists for the Randolph-Macon Yellowjackets.

Students in grades 9-12 participate in Randolph-Macon's 91st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), and have the opportunity to learn to fly through a unique flight program. R-MA is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, according to a media release about the award.
