Ridgefield High School Students to Compete in 'Euro Challenge'

Teams from 25 high schools in 12 states will face-off in the semi-final and final round of this year's Euro Challenge competition.

A team of 9th and 10th grade students from will compete against other high schools to solve Europe's economic problems during this year's Euro Challenge to be held April 30 at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Teams from 25 high schools in 12 states will face-off in the semi-final and final round of this year's Euro Challenge competition, according to a press release.

"The Euro Challenge is a unique and exciting educational opportunity for high school students from across the United States to learn about the European Union — the largest economic partner of the U.S. — and the economies that share its single currency, the euro," the release states. "Participants showcase their knowledge of everything from ballooning government deficits to rising unemployment, and make policy recommendations to solve these and other challenges confronting countries."

The top five winning teams will receive monetary awards provided by The Moody's Foundation. In addition the top two teams will win a trip to Washington, D.C.
