Ridgefield High Makes List of Toughest Schools

Ridgefield one of 18 Connecticut high schools to qualify for Most Challenging School.

Ridgefield High School made it onto the Washington Post’s list of the most challenging schools in the country, numbering 698 out 2,000 public and private schools to make the list and eighth among 18 Connecticut schools.

Washington Post researchers compared the number of college-credit tests —Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced International Certificate (AIC) — taken each year against the number of seniors to graduate, the site explains. Any school to reach a ratio of 1 or better made it on the list.

Ridgefield High School’s index means the school administered 2.482 college placement tests for every Class of 2012 graduate.
