Ridgefield Woman's Club holds an Open House for prospective members at their regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Ballard Green clubhouse.
Women living in Ridgefield, Redding and surrounding areas are invited to attend and learn how membership in the woman's club promotes strong friendships through participation in community service activities.
Local resident Nancy Sokolowski Kolb, author of a book about breast cancer symptoms, treatment and options, will speak about the disease.

In service to the community, the club works under the umbrella of major issues within six areas: The arts, family enrichment, gardening and conservation, education, international outreach and public issues. Members choose those projects that reflect their interests and talents.
