Murder by the Book     The Judas Pair by Jonathan Gash (1977, 218 pages).

Meet Lovejoy: British antiques dealer, womanizer and cynic, with an uncanny ability to sniff out the genuine article in a shop full of trash and fakes. The series is characterized by its wry humor and extensive background on the antiques business, but Lovejoy is its real appeal - a character you will love to hate and hate to love.

The library's Murder by the Book mystery discussion group meets on the first Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. in the Dayton Program Room.
