Joint Replacement Lecture at Laurel Ridge – As part of National Rehabilitation Awareness week, Laurel Ridge Health Care Center will host an orthopedic “Lunch and Learn” lecture titled, “What's new in hip and knee replacement," on Thursday, September 20, at 12 PM noon, 642 Danbury Road (Route 7), Ridgefield, CT.  Hip and knee replacements are among the most common surgical procedures with over a million joint replacements annually.  While these procedures may have become somewhat routine, advances are being made to better the patient experience through innovations.  Whether you have just started exploring treatment options or are currently looking for an orthopedic surgeon to discuss knee or hip replacement, this free lunch and learn lecture can help you understand more about what is available to you.  The guest speaker, Dr. Robert Deveney, is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with Danbury Orthopedic Assoc. and attending physician with Western Connecticut Health Network with expertise in adult hip and knee surgery.  His special interests are in hip resurfacing, minimally invasive joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery.  Dr. Deveney is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, completed his residency at NY Orthopaedic Hospital and Columbia Presbyterian, and his fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
