Improving the Election Process – On Thursday, Feb. 23, 10 AM, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill will discuss “Improving Elections in Connecticut” at the Ridgefield Library. The Ridgefield League of Women Voters will moderate a discussion that will focus on election reforms that Ms. Merrill plans to introduce in the upcoming legislative session. The proposed legislation, which will be presented to the General Assembly next month, would allow Connecticut voters, who have a valid and current driver's license, to register over the Internet. Some of the proposed changes concern Election Day registration, absentee ballots to be governed by stature, and other improvements to the voting process in Connecticut. "The time has come that we register people on Election Day," Ms. Merrill said during a previous meeting she held across the State. "There are 10 states that are doing it. Maine has been doing it for 40 years and they love it." The discussion is free and the public is encouraged to attend. For more information, please contact Birgitta Stone at inforlwv@gmail.com. The point is that if bias is something the left abhors, then dont act in such a biased way towards the ACTIONS of men in the oval office. If you consider poor treatment of suspected terrorists to tarnish the reputation of the United States, then please dont quietly accept the killing of Americans who the CIA suspect are terrorists; dont applaud the awesome way he directed the operation of Navy Seal Team Six and the killing of Osama bin Laden but excuse his total absence when our Ambassador in Libya is killed. They remove his involvement in anything that doesnt go well. It's all a show. And all those smart people on the left---so CAPABLE of making assessments of Bush are now incapable of analyzing Obama? No--it's bias. It's intellectual dishonesty. Hold this guy accountable. Dont put party before country.
