Creativity, Imagination Expert at Aldrich

Steven Dahlberg, director of the International Centre for Creativity and Imagination, will join the education staff of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum to host a seminar and workshop on Creativity in the Classroom open to teachers, school administrators, and parents.

The workshop will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 22. The fee is $30 for Aldrich members, $35 for non-members. For more information, visit aldrichart.org or call 203-438-4519.

Participants will explore what creativity is, who has it, and how to unleash more of it. Creative thinking is a 21st-century skill that applies to all subjects, all grade levels, and all ages, Dahlberg says.

"It is a skill that prepares students and adults for a rapidly changing world, where complex problems do not have pre-defined solutions," he said.  "Creativity involves creative and critical thinking skills that can be taught, practiced, and applied in all curriculums."

Dahlberg is dedicated to applying creativity to improve the well-being of individuals, organizations and communities.  He works with the Public and Community Engagements program at the University of Connecticut, where he teaches the Creativity + Social Change course.
