Butterfly Walk

Local lepidopterist Victor DeMasi will lead a Discovery Center butterfly walk at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24; the raindate is Sunday, July 25.  The walk includes a visit to one of Connecticut's outstanding meadows to observe butterflies and  discuss butterfly ecology and conservation.

Attendees will park in the field across from 10 Simpaug Turnpike in Ridgefield to begin the walk. Long pants, sturdy shoes and tick protection are advised.

Victor DeMasi is a research associate at the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History. Victor and his wife Roanna have studied butterflies for the last forty years in Connecticut and far away places such as the Amazon basin and Ethiopia.
