Kick off

This month, the Club kicked off another busy year with an Open House. Potential Club members were treated to an introduction to our volunteer efforts, a guest speaker, goodies and fun.

As we gear up for our big Craft Fair in November, as part of Destination Ridgefield Holiday Markets, we're also making plans for our other charitable efforts.

All of our volunteer efforts relate back to our mission statement, A.C.T.I.O.N. To accept what we cannot change; to change what we cannot accept; to try our best in all endeavors; to become involved for the good of the Club and our community; to oppose gossip, self-pity, prejudice, discrimination, hasty judgment, and fear; to fulfill the needs, not only of ourselves as women, but also the needs of those less fortunate than we. Our motto keeps it simple: Real women care.

This year, we're proud to become a member of the The Women's Center of Danbury, along with this sampling of other programs and groups that we support:

  • RHS senior scholarships
  • Evelyn Peeler Scholarship, and Children's Holiday Gift Fund
  • Adopt a road
  • Are you ok?® (aka RUOK)
  • Bloodmobile
  • Child outreach
  • Handmade breast cancer pillows for the Praxair Cancer Center of Danbury Hospital
  • Ridgefield Community Center Tree Festival
  • Food pantry
  • Operation smile
  • Ridgefield Historical Society/ Keeler Tavern
  • Rocky Hill veterans/ Homes for the Brave
  • Equipment for the Fire Department, EMT services, and RVNA
  • The Ballard Green Band Stand and Brick Walkway
The Club offers a great way to meet other socially-conscious, active women and to be part of an organization with state, national, and international ties. Women of all ages, commitment levels, and skill sets are encouraged to join!
