Keeler Tavern Exhibit Opens in Ridgefield Town Hall

It's a wee bit older than your average tavern, like 300 years old.

New displays appeared in Ridgefield Town Hall Tuesday and Wednesday celebrating the 300th anniversary of the Keeler Tavern, which occurs in 2013.

Visitors will learn the tavern was struck by British canon fire during the running battle fought between British regulars and militia led by Benedict Arnold. After the British attack on Danbury, militia attached and harassed them on their way back to Long Island Sound.

The display is open during regular Ridgefield Town Hall hours. For more information about the Keeler Tavern and the Keeler Tavern Museum, follow the link.
