Democratic Party Names November Slate

Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi said he expects affordable housing, expanding the sewer plant, the Slumberger property, and charter changes will be the big political issues over the next two years.

The Board of Selectmen are not up for reelection this fall.

The Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee nominated the following people as its slate of candidates for the November Election.

Board of Finance:

  • Jeff L. Bonistalli Sr. (11/19/13-11/16/17)
Marconi said state budget cuts and tough budget decisions the state legislature failed to make or postponed in 2013 will likely cost Rigdefield money in years to come. The finance board must deal with that.

He said declining enrollment obvious in previous school years didn't continue this year. He said that change will help postpone any talk about closing a Ridgefield school.

Board of Education:
  • Irene Burgess (11/19/13-11/16/17)
  • Amy K. Shinohara "             "
  • Michael J. Taylor "              "
The big issue facing the town's planning department will be state laws governing affordable housing, Marconi said. "There's not much you can do as a member of a board about a state law," Marconi said. "You can make sure the record is right. Make sure it will be a good case if you reject it."

Planning and Zoning:
  • Joseph C. Fossi (11/19/13-11/16/17)
  • James J. Coyle "               "
  • Timothy Dunphy "            "
  • Betty A. Kloth "                 "

Zoning Board of Appeals:
  • Sky Cole (11/18/14-11/19/19)
  • Sky Cole, fill vacancy (11/5/13-11/18/14)
  • Dwayne Escola, Alternate (11/19/13-11/16/17)

Zoning Board of Appeals:
  • Sean B. O'Kane (11/19/13-11/20/18)
  • Elizabeth A. DiSalvo (11/18/14-11/19/19)
