Woman Arrested for DUI Had Daughter in Vehicle

A woman is arrested on Rte. 7 after failing sobriety tests in Ridgefield.

On August 18 at 8:30 p.m, a motorist called police to report “a reckless driver travelling south on Rte. 7 with no lights on,” according to police reports. The caller reported that the car had then pulled over near Florida Hill Road; police arrived at that location shortly afterward, reports state.

Police reports state that the driver “told police that she had been drinking” and subsequently failed sobriety tests. The woman’s five year-old daughter was in the vehicle, according to police.

Reports identify the woman as Marisol Gonzalaz, 38, of Texas Avenue in Bridgeport. She was arrested for DUI, risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace and failure to renew registration, reports state.

Gonzalez was released on a $500 cash bond. The daughter was released to her father and DCF was contacted in regards to the incident, reports state.
