Ridgefield Police: Stealing from an Elderly Ridgefield Woman

Ridgefield Police charged a Ridgefield man with stealing $21,000 worth of coins from an elderly Ridgefield Woman.

Rudy Rosario, 38, Bailey Avenue, Ridgefield, turned himself in at Ridgefield Police headquarters Tuesday upon learning there was an arrest warrant out for him. Police charged Rosario with taking and selling $21,000 worth of coins from an elderly Ridgefield woman. Rosario was charged with first-degree larceny, and was released on a $1,000 bond for an appearance scheduled in Danbury Superior Court April 4.

This information was provided by the Ridgefield Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.

Are you sure you have the address right? I don't know of a Barley Avenue in Ridgefield.

2 minutes of research would show the person named lives in Danbury, and that there is no listings for Barley Road. Cut and paste sloppiness by the Patch staff. We don't expect the NY Times but a simple vetting of the facts or actual fact-checking is in order on these pieces. Why don' t we know the victims details? How about details on the arrest warrant? It may be time for the Patch to grow up.
