Ridgefield Police: Forgery, Shoplifting

Ridgefield Police charged a Ridgefield woman with forgery, ID theft and larceny, and also charged a South Salem, NY woman with shoplifting.

Theresa Levinsky, 35, of South Salem, NY, was charged Dec. 13 with sixth-degree larceny, following an incident at a Danbury Road store at about 3:30 p.m. Ridgefield Police said they were called to the store by store security, and Levinsky was said to have stolen $93.91 in merchandise. She was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Jan. 2, 2013.

In a separate case, Ridgefield Police said they pulled over a car on Dec. 14 at about 12:48 a.m. driven by Elizabeth Johnson, 23, of Ridgefield, and then found a warrant had been issued charging her with third-degree forgery, third-degree identity theft and third-degree larceny. Police said Johnson was arraigned in Danbury Superior Court on Dec. 14.

Ridgefield Police provided this information. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
