Ridgefield Police: DUI, Route 7 Two-Car
Ridgefield Police charged one with driving under the influence and investigated an improper turn that led to a two-car crash.
Ridgefield Police issued a warning to Samuel Tessler, 21, West Redding, for failure to grant the right of way following a two-car crash near Branchville Road on Route 7 monday at about 5:40 p.m. Police said Tessler was turning left in front of a second car, which hit him. Both drivers refused treatment for any injuries.
In an unrelated incident that took place at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning, Ridgefield police saw an improper turn on Route 7 and stopped a car driven by Zachary Shea, 21, of Lakeside Drive, North Salem, NY. Police said Shea smelled of alcohol, and he failed a field sobriety test. He was charged with driving under the influence. He was released on a $100 cash bond for an appearance in Danbury Superior Court on Dec. 20.
