Ridgefield police charged Mitchell Carroll, 21, Mountain View Avenue, with driving under the influence and following too closely at 7:38 p.m. Saturday. Police said they responded to a car accident on the Danbury Road at Hulda Lane where one car had rear-ended the other. Police said the driver in the second car was Carroll, and he was driving under the influence. No injuries were reported and both cars suffered minor to moderate damage. Carroll was released on a $100 bond for an appearance scheduled in Danbury Superior Court on Oct. 28.
