Alleged Drunk Driver Takes Out Street Signs

Ridgefield Police charged a 35-year-old man with DUI after he reportedly damaged a guardrail, a crosswalk sign and a stop sign.


Ridgefield Police arrested a 35-year-old man after he reportedly damaged a guardrail, a crosswalk sign and a stop sign while allegedly driving drunk.

According to police, the incident took place at about 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 30 near the intersection of South Street and Ligi Way. The man, who police identified as David Tyler of Sylvan Drive in Ridgefield, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to drive right and driving without insurance.

Tyler was released on a $100 bond, police said.
