Ridgefield Police Ask for Help Supporting Special Olympics

Ridgefield Police Officers are working with Dimitri's Diner on Prospect Street in November to raise money for the Special Olympics.

Officers will work with trained staff during lunches and dinners on Nov. 7, 14, and 21, three Thursdays, on a "Tip A Cop," fundraiser. Tips will be given to the Special Olympics, which the department also supports each year through torch runs across Connecticut.

At the same time the officers are helping serve lunches and dinners, Dimitri's will donate 10 percent of their business those days to the Special Olympics.

"We're grateful to Dimitri's for all of its generous support," said Ridgefield Police Captain Thomas Comstock. Comstock said this is the first year of what he hopes will be many years of fundraising.
