Ridgefield Police: Alcohol by a Minor

Ridgefield Police rack up numerous charges for motor vehicle violations.

Ridgefield police stopped a driver on Wilton Road West and Great Rocks at 9:45 p.m. Aug. 30, after receiving a complaint about a driver in that area. Police stopped the car, ticketed the juvenile driver for operating a motor vehicle by a juvenile while in possession of alcohol. The juvenile was turned over the their parents.

Ridgefield Police charged Eric Thompson, 34, of Bennetts Farm Road, with misuse of plates, operating a motor vehicle without a license, traveling fast and no insurance after stopping his car for speeding. Police said this happened at 9:48 a.m. Aug. 31.

Ridgefield Police charged Rodrigo Dearaugo, 43, of Newtown for driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and using a cell phone without a hands-free device at 10 a.m. Aug. 27. Police stopped Dearaugo after seeing him driving on North Street with the cell phone. He was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Sept. 10.
