The New York State Police released the following information about Derek Kalish, 21, of Ridgefield. Police said they received a call about a car driving erratically on the Taconic State Parkway. Troopers saw the car and pulled it over in Milan. Police said the driver showed signs of impairment while they questioned him. Police said he could not perform field sobriety tests. Police found he was carrying heroin and a hypodermic needle. He refused to take a chemical test. New York State Police charged him with DWAI Drugs,
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Possession of
a Hypodermic Instrument and Speeding. Kalish was arraigned in the Town of Milan Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County
Jail on $750 cash/$1500 bond to reappear at a later date.
