Police: No Stop. No License. Active Warrant. You're Under Arrest

Ridgefield Police say a 28-year-old New Milford man ran a stop sign on Haviland Road.

A New Milford man was arrested on multiple motor vehicle charges after he allegedly failed to obey a stop sign on Haviland Road on July 24.

The man, Edward R. Carnes Jr., 28, also had an active warrant for his arrest out of Brookfield, according to the Ridgefield police report. He was charged with second-degree failure to appear in relation to that; information on the origins of the Brookfield charges was not immediately available.

Police said Carnes was pulled over on Route 7 at 3:27 p.m. on July 24. At the time of the traffic stop, a computer check revealed that he had an expired registration and a suspended license, the report states.

He was placed under arrest and, after being processed, released on a $500 bond. Carnes is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Aug. 13.
