Danbury Police: Ridgefield Man DUI

A Ridgefield man was found slumped over the wheel of his truck, and then he failed a field sobriety test.

Danbury officers found a driver slumped over the wheel of his truck at about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said Andrew Murray, 49, Pine Mountain Road, Ridgefield, was parked diagonally across the two north bound lanes on Sugar Hollow Road. The windshield was totally frosted over on this vehicle. After speaking to Murray, who had a strong odor of alcohol and red eyes, officers administered the standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed.

Andrew Murray is charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to carry his operator license, failure to provide proof of insurance, reckless driving, operating under the influence of liquor and/or drugs, and failure to drive right. He was held on a $5,000 bond.

This information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
