BMW Fails to Ford Floodwater, Drug Deal Goes Bad

Unusual police news from Fairfield and New Haven Counties.

Luckily, Connecticut Light & Power and town workers in Woodbury had cleared a road after Sandy swept through before a home built in the 1800s caught fire Wednesday night. The home was saved and no one was injured in the blaze.

That same evening, police also responded to reports of a man falling down a steep embankment while trying to fill a water bottle in a river off Judson Avenue.

A large crowd reportedly 500 strong of allegedly intoxicated Southern Connecticut State University students got upset Halloween night when police arrived to break up the party and started attacking the officer, one of whom ended up with a broken nose. Three students were arrested during the melee.
