- Play in the Dirt at the Aldrich
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am to 1 pm during the summer, bring the kids to get dirty at the at the museum's new Sensory Garden. Pack a lunch, bring a blanket, and explore the outdoors with a museum educator. Children will do projects that focus on sustainability. Admission is free; program runs weather permitting. - Support Group for caregivers
A new support group for those caring for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia will meet on Thursday, July 7th at 12:30 pm in the History Room of the Ridgefield Library. - A World of Music at the
The duo of Chris Merwin and Jim Austin have traveled the world and teamed up to present a multicultural music program called “One World of Music” on Thursday, July 7 from 11 to 11:45 am. This program is part of the library’s summer reading program. Children ages five and up can learn about exotic instruments from around the world including the Arabic oud, the Hawaiian steel guitar, and the Japanese shakuhachi flute. Children will also learn dances from around the world. Registration is not required. For more information, see Chris and Jim’s website.
- South Salem Carnival
Since the Ridgefield Fire Department’s carnival was mostly rained out, come to the South Salem, NY Fire Department’s carnival on July 12-16 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday’s hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Unlimited rides wristbands are $20 per night.
