Choral Evensong Celebrates Feast of All Saints

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 351 Main Street, will hold a service of choral evensong for the Feast of All Saints on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 5:00 p.m.  

This centuries-old tradition of sung Evening Prayer features beautiful texts from the Anglo-Catholic tradition, such as the Phos Hilaron (O Gracious Light), the Magnificat (Song of Mary) and the Nunc Dimittis (Song of Simeon).  Composers featured in this service will be Healey Willan, James Whitbourn, and Howard Helvey.  

St. Stephen’s new parish organist, Arno Steinig (pictured), will provide accompaniment as well as organ voluntaries. The service will be led by the Rev. Whitney Altopp, rector, and Scott Toperzer, minister of music.  

All are invited to experience a worshipful hour filled with music.  Free-will donations will be accepted at the door, and a wine and cheese reception in South Hall will be held after the service.
