Obituary: Thomas Walsh, Navy Veteran, Former Member of St. Mary's

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Thomas E. Walsh, 83, of South Norwalk, CT, formerly of Ridgefield, died on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Burkeville, VA.

Mr. Walsh was the husband of the late Joan (Cooney) Walsh and the late Natalie “Pat” (Mayo) Walsh.

He was born in Norwalk, CT, September 10, 1929, attended Norwalk schools and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Walsh was a self-employed carpenter and an avid fisherman.

An area resident for the majority of his life, Mr. Walsh was a member of the Friends of Bill W. and St. Mary Parish, Ridgefield.

He is survived by a son, Kerri Walsh of Danbury; three daughters, Dorian Plude and her husband, Kevin of Oxford, CT, Cathlin Pierce and her husband, Lee of Amelia, VA and Alison M. Walsh of Trumbull, CT; a sister, Eileen Burke of Sarasota, FL; a step-daughter, Maura Mayo of Stratford, CT; nine grandchildren, Joy, TJ, Tommy, Mickey, Kyle, Duane, Blaze, Tucker and Alysse; three great grandchildren, Ashley, Olivia and Joslyn and several nieces and  nephews.

Mr. Walsh was predeceased by a son. T. Blaze Walsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 1:15 PM in Ridgefield.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.
