Obituary: Jeffrey S. Simpson Died Sunday, Oct. 27


Jeffrey S. Simpson, 51, of Danbury, husband of Lisa (Broussard) Simpson died unexpectedly shortly after his admission to Danbury Hospital on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was stricken ill at home.

Mr. Simpson was born in Detroit, Michigan, February 20, 1962, a son of John E. Simpson of Ridgefield and the late Sharon (Haskin) Simpson. 

He moved to Ridgefield with his family in 1968 from Minnesota, attended Ridgefield schools, graduating in the Ridgefield High School Class of 1980 and later received a Bachelor of Science degree from Teikyo Post University.

A financial consultant, Mr. Simpson was formerly associated with The Equitable Insurance Company and A.G. Edwards and at the time of his death was employed with Raymond James of Wilton.

Active in sports, Jeff played in the Ridgefield Men’s summer and fall Softball Leagues and organized and played basketball at the Wilton YMCA on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 6 a.m. He also participated in the sports of golf and skiing.

Jeff was an avid NY Yankee and Giants fan and enjoyed college basketball. 

A member and volunteer with Friends of Bill, Jeff also volunteered at Hudson Country Montessori School and was an American Red Cross blood donor.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Church, Ridgefield.

In addition to his wife and father, Jeff is also survived by his step-mother, Sandra Simpson of Ridgefield; two sons, Ross Simpson and Jackson Simpson and a daughter, Shelby Simpson all of Danbury; two brothers, Mark A. Simpson of Danbury and John G. Simpson and his wife, Jennifer of Redding; two step-brothers, Jeff Cowser and his wife, Mei of Shelton and Kevin Cowser and his wife, Stephanie of New Canaan and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield.

Interment will take place at the direction of the family.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m.
