Obituary: Elizabeth Margaret Neumann, 45, Died on Dec. 10

Elizabeth Margaret Neumann, 45, of Ridgefield, wife of Bob Neumann passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.

Elizabeth was born on August 22, 1968 to John and Margaret (Enright) McElligott; she was one of seven children. Elizabeth was born in Lissaniska, Kilmorna, Listowel County Kerry, Ireland, and moved to the United States at the age of 17.

She spent most of her life as a caregiver helping many people in the area. Elizabeth's interests included traveling with her husband Bob, hiking with her dog Athea (Tay Tay), interior decorating, fitness, and most importantly being a friend to all animals; she adored her beloved Kecia who is once again right by her side.

Elizabeth will be sadly missed by many friends and family. Elizabeth was predeceased by her father, John McElligott and mother, Margaret McElligott. In addition to her husband Bob Neumann of Ridgefield, CT, Elizabeth is survived by brothers, John, Michael and Thomas McElligott; sisters, Mary Kennedy and husband James, Margaret Whyte and husband Eamonn, and her sister Siobhan McElligott. Elizabeth is also survived by her father and mother-in-law; Harry and Lorraine Neumann, brothers in law and their wives, Chip and Pam Neumann, Russ and Holly Neumann, Jeff and Mary Neumann; sisters in law, Janet Neumann, Shaylene Neumann Kelley and husband Joe Kelley; nieces and nephews, Aaron, Jake and Megan Whyte, John and Stephanie Kennedy, Heather and Rob Salaga, Bridget and Conor Lander, Leah, Brooke, Kyle, Jamie, Cory and Ryan Neumann, Shaylene and Russell Fink, Michael and Tracy Mallozzi, and Billy, Abby and Colin Kelley. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17 at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield. The family will receive friends at the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Monday, December 16 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made in Elizabeth's memory to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut, 39 Old Ridgebury Rd., Danbury 06810 www.regionalhospicect.org, or Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR), 45 South St., Ridgefield 06877 www.roar-ridgefield.org., two organizations very dear to her heart.
