Marion King, St. Mary's Parisioner, Dies at 86

King was an avid reader born in Brooklyn.

Marion V. King, 86, of both Ridgefield and Juno Beach, FL, mother of Kathleen King-Gutierrez and wife of the late Lawrence J. King died at her Ridgefield home on Monday, Nov. 12.

Mrs. King was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Feb. 22, 1926, a daughter of the late Francis B. and Catherine E. (O’Connell) Rooney.  Raised in Rosedale, Queens, New York, she attended New York schools.

A former resident for many years of Huntington, L.I., N.Y,  King was a resident of Juno Beach, FL and Ridgefield, CT.  She was a homemaker.

King was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, was a member of Founders Hall of Ridgefield and attended St. Mary's Church in Ridgefield and St. Paul of the Cross Church in Singer Island, FL.

In addition to her daughter Kathleen King-Gutierrez and her husband, Ray of Ridgefield, King is also survived by two sons, Lawrence King and his wife, Ruth of Homer, N.Y., and Kevin King and his wife, Maria of Hong Kong; two sisters, Bernice Munzer of Hoschton, GA and Janet Fuhrman of Sun City, SC; four grandchildren, Courtney, Patrick, Sebastian and Amanda and several nieces and nephews. King was predeceased by a son, Douglas J. King.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary's Church.

Interment will take place in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I., N.Y. There will be no calling hours.

The family would appreciate memorial donations to the Diabetes Research Institute, 45 Glen Cove Rd., Greenvale, NY  11548.

The Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.
