Danbury Gets a Touch O' the Irish This Weekend

Weekend packed with St. Patrick's Day celebrations.

The Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center presents food, fiddlin’ and fun this weekend to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 15 and 16, corned beef sandwiches will be served, along with corned beef and cabbage dinner and traditional fish and chips.

On Saturday, Danbury’s own Mighty Ploughboys play their Connecticut Kickoff beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the club, located at 6 Lake Ave., Danbury. They will be joined by Celtic Cross Pipe and Drums and Steve O' Tree. The $10 cover charge includes music and Coors Light.

On Monday, St Patrick's Day celebrations start at noon, “Irish Time.” Corned Beef abd Cabbage with potatoes and carrots will be served by the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, along with Corned Beef Sandwiches on Rye. Tim Sheehan of i95 will be broadcasting live from the club from 3-5 p.m.  At 6 p.m. the fun continues with Steve O’ Tree, back for more traditional Irish favorites.
