Ridgefield Community Thanksgiving Service

The annual Ridgefield community interfaith Thanksgiving
service will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, November 26,
at 7:30 p.m.  This event, conducted by the Ridgefield Clergy Association,
is planned to be welcoming of people of all religious traditions.

 “Thanksgiving
is not just about giving thanks.  It is also about giving out of our
thankfulness,” says the Rev. Whitney Altopp who has organized the interfaith
service on behalf of the Ridgefield Clergy Association.  This annual
worship service is a collective effort of all of the clergy, both Christian and
Jewish, who lead congregations in Ridgefield.  It is a one-hour service of
songs, readings, and prayers.  Musical anthems will be offered by a
combined interfaith choir and The Ridgefield Chorale.  The reflection will
be offered by Rabbi David Reiner of Temple Shearith Israel.  There will be
something for kids to keep them engaged during the worship service.  There
will be a collection taken for the Ridgefield Food Pantry and the Interfaith
Association of Religious Communities (ARC) in Danbury.  Come prepared to
give to these area ministries through either money or a packaged good (or
both).  A reception will follow in South Hall.
