Joseph Beuys: Transformer

The Gallery at Onatru hosts a special presentation by artist and activist John DiLeva Halpern of his acclaimed documentary, "Joseph Beuys: Transformer." This unique film features interviews with Joseph Beuys and footage of the installation of the historic  1979 exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City.

Mr. Halpern will be available to sign copies of his DVD.  Donations are welcome to benefit the Gallery at Onatru and copies of the movie will be available for purchase with a portion of the   proceeds going to cultural programs at Onatru Farm.

The evening also presents an opportunity to view the current show "Souls on Fire" which features the work of  six dedicated married artist couples.  Twelve individual artists who work  in different mediums.  The painter and printmaker Sergio Gonzalez-Tornero and fiber artist and printmaker Adrienne Collum.  The documentary filmmaker and video artist John Halpern and the conceptual artist Katrin Roos.  Painter Michael Biddle and Liz Surbeck Biddle painter sculptor and printmaker.  Minimalist painter Nils Hill and emotionally-charged abstractionist Ivy Dachman.  Sculptor ceramicist Lisa Breznak and the film photographer Howard Goodman.  Digital photographer Bernard Mindich and violinist Ani Kavafian.
