In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, the Keeler Tavern Museum (KTM) is offering a Vintage Valentine’s kids craft program on Saturday, February 9, from 10:00 – 11:30 AM. The snow date is set for Wednesday, February 13, 4 – 5:30 PM. The program is open to girls and boys, Grades 1 – 6, and costs $15 per child, which includes all materials and a light snack. Each child is asked to bring a passport-sized photo of him/herself. The program is held at the KTM Garden House located at 132 Main Street in Ridgefield, CT.
The kids will make vintage Valentine cards using templates of old-fashioned Valentine cards, some with moveable parts. There will be a brief introduction about the history of Valentine cards and an explanation of the various types of Valentine cards that were popular throughout the centuries. Each child will go home with a number of hand-made Valentine cards for their loved ones.
